Beauty oils have long been used to nourish both the skin and the hair. The oil bath technique, passed down from mothers to daughters, originates from beauty rituals from India. Whatever the hair type, this beauty ritual works wonders by making it softer, stronger, and more radiant.

The Hair Oil Bath

Vegetable oils offer numerous benefits and are, on their own, a deeply repairing treatment. The ideal nourishing treatment is to perform an oil bath at least once a week. First, choose the oil that meets your hair’s needs. To combine benefits, you can mix the oils using one to one and a half droppers of each.

How to Proceed

Apply the oil mixture to the lengths and ends of the hair.

Wrap the hair in plastic wrap, then in a towel previously warmed in the microwave. Heat opens the hair cuticles and allows the active ingredients to penetrate more easily into the hair fiber.

Leave on for 15 to 30 minutes, then shampoo. For deeper nourishment, leave the oil bath on overnight and shampoo in the morning!

Hair Oils & Coloring

Another nourishing method is to incorporate an oil into a technical service such as hair coloring:

The method is simple, as long as a few principles are respected:

First, choose one of the hair oils that meets your hair’s needs. To combine benefits, you can mix the oils using one to one and a half droppers of each.

For full-length coloring (roots, lengths, and ends):

Apply the coloring mixture to the roots.

When pulling the color through to the lengths and ends, add 2 to 3 droppers of beauty oil directly into the mixing bowl. Apply to the lengths.

Rinse after the processing time.

For root-only coloring:

Apply the coloring mixture to the roots.

Take 2 to 3 droppers of beauty oil and apply to the lengths and ends.

Rinse after the processing time.
